Code of Conduct

Please carefully read our Code of Conduct for the Central Ohio GameDev Group (COGG). By joining and participating in our group and all its activities, you agree and abide by the follow guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all. COGG follows many of the same guidelines as the IGDA code of ethics as seen here:
igda.org/about-us/core-values-and-code-of-ethics

Specially, we adhere to the following:

  • We are Inclusive

  • We are Friendly

  • We are Collaborative

All are welcome!

We are Inclusive

We invite and encourage all to participate in our public events. We do not discriminate based on ethnicity, backgrounds, beliefs, or mythical creature connections. Our collective community is growing and invites anyone interested in learning and supporting other game developers. This includes all game development experiences from the aspiring to the professional level. Or, maybe you just want to know what all the hub-bub is about!

Do you talk to your grandmother with that mouth?

We are Friendly

We by default are a family friendly group. And so should you be when attending our events and with any of our onsite/online community interactions. We will do our due diligence to be clear and concise if there are events that are less-than-family-friendly. This is uncommon so please refrain from swearing, sharing inappropriate content, and harassment of any kind. If you do see this or feel uncomfortable for any reason, please reach out to us for support: info@thecogg.com. Our statement is if your grandmother would not approve of it, please kindly keep it to yourself.

Come hungry to learn and grow.

We are Collaborative

We are always looking for ways to work and learn together. Our friendly group has a wide range of developers interested in supporting and collaborating with others. If you are an experienced or new developer looking to work on a project, we want you! Our goal is to funnel together game development opportunities from around the Midwest (and then-some!) to strengthen and create new opportunities in the COGG community. Have a game development idea to share and teach? Present at our next GameDev Meetup! Fill out our form here:
