Good New Years Eve and a good New Years day!

🎉🎉Good New Years Eve and soon to be a good New Years day!
We're here from the COGG to wish you all the best on a setting sun for 2022 and some rising good opportunities for 2023. 🎉🎉

2022 was one of our guiding years for back in-person events. We want to thank you all for all the humbling support for one of craziest years we've had as we started to collaborate our online and in-person communities together. We also thank you for supporting our local members as well. We're dedicated to being a family-friendly group that leads a community that is run by the community for the community. We hope to serve you all even better in 2023!

As mentioned in our past few events, for 2023 we are moving heavier into a new mixture of in-person and online events to support our entire community. By default, all our events will be online unless noted otherwise in our 3 reoccurring events via Meetup.com (www.meetup.com/the-cogg). This is to support more online members who may have seen less events online in 2022 as we floated resources to more in-person events. Even though we cannot guarantee we can host all reoccurring events each month, we strive to always have 3 events a month and to continue to find an in-person venue to host where appropriate:

Prototype and Play on 2nd Fridays 6pm-9pm:
Bring your Games to test and play. (online by default but looking to make in-person)

Let's Play on 3rd Sunday of the month 2pm-4pm:
We play games online to break down game design. (always online)

GameDev Meetup on Last Saturday of the month 1pm-4pm:
News for COGG and community presentations. (online by default but looking to make in-person)

Please check our Meetup page before you go out to an event and at end of the month for event updates.

To clarify, for 2023 we are working diligently to have in-person events that are uniquely catered to our community and that will better benefit networking and gamedev opportunity growth. It's all a balance! We've been talking to game venues, universities, colleges, libraries and the like. And thusly, for January and part of February, we've locked down some cool new venues outside of our usual co-working space events. A Community Survey is coming so be the on look out. We want to know what you think of our group as we grow and change. And more to come!

Let's see what we got so far for 2023:

Prototype and Play:
January 20th - Fri 6pm-9pm
@GameArena Gateway
https://www.meetup.com/the-cogg/events/290516852/

We're excited to collaborate with GameArena (https://game-arena.co/) to host a unique gaming space for you to share your games. Table, seats, outlets, wi-if included. Light snacks provided by COGG and water at the bar. Feel free to use bar for more food and drinks if you so choose. We're on the 2nd floor. There's parking around the back at South Campus Gateway Garage with $5 parking voucher or other parking around the area.

In ending of a year and onward into a new one, we again can't thank you all enough for the support over the years. The patience as we change and evolve, the representation of such a supportive group to others, and the continued participation in our events is what makes this all worth while. We're so proud to be part of such an amazing community of gamedevs and can't wait to see what 2023 has in store for us all!

Happy New Years and keep making games!

With ❤️ from the COGG
